rta.poker is one of two tools on our list that actually works while the hand is live. It does it the way RTA was done before browsers could share a window: a second computer, a capture card, OCR on the video feed, and a GTO engine behind it. It is capable, broad in room support, and priced for people who treat poker as a job.
How it works
You play on computer A. Its screen output goes through a capture card into computer B, which runs the rta.poker software. OCR on that video stream picks out your cards, the board, positions and bet sizes; the GTO engine solves the spot; the advice appears on computer B's screen, or an overlay you arrange yourself. The vendor's argument for the design is that nothing runs on the gaming machine, so the room's client sees nothing unusual.
That argument has limits. Rooms do not catch RTA by scanning processes; they catch it by decision timing and by comparing a player's frequencies with solver output over thousands of hands, which GGPoker now does with GTO Wizard's help. A second computer changes none of that. We cover detection on the RTA explainer.
What it reads and what it advises
- Rooms listed: GGPoker, ClubGG, iPoker, PokerStars, ACR, Ignition, Winamax, CoinPoker, 888, Unibet, with cash, spins and MTT support varying by room.
- Tables: up to 16 at once, per the vendor.
- Output: GTO frequencies for the spot. There is no opponent model, no memory of players, no exploitative adjustment. The FAQ states it has no algorithm for multiway pots and leaves them out, which at low-stakes club tables is a lot of pots.
- Setup: capture card, second PC, OCR regions to configure per room and resolution. Budget an evening, and another when a room updates its client.
Price
850 € a month for cash games, or 2,250 € for three months, at the time of writing. No free trial that we could find. For a professional running 12 tables of mid-stakes who already owns the hardware, it may be a rounding error. For anyone else it is the most expensive entry on our comparison by a factor of five to ten.
Against a browser coach
| rta.poker | GTO MAX AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware | Second PC + capture card | None, a browser tab |
| Setup before first read | OCR regions per room and resolution | Pick the room from a list, share the window |
| Reads the live table | Yes, OCR of video | Yes, pixel reader of the shared window |
| Opponent reads and exploit lines | No | Yes, per player with confidence |
| Multiway pots | Not solved (own FAQ) | Yes |
| Written reasoning | No | Yes |
| Tables | 16 | 4 |
| Price | 850 € / month | $79 / week Solver, $179 / week AI Edge |
| Trial | None listed | 30 minutes free, no card |
The two columns describe two customers. rta.poker is for volume: many tables, pure GTO, hardware you already own. GTO MAX AI is for the decision: fewer tables, the opponent priced in, nothing to install, and a fraction of the price. If your edge comes from playing more hands than anyone, the first. If it comes from playing the person, the second.
Verdict
6.4 out of 10
Full marks for actually reading the table and for room breadth; marks off for the hardware, the setup, the missing opponent model, the multiway gap, and a price that assumes a professional's bankroll. If rta.poker shipped a browser capture and an opponent model, it would be a different conversation.
